As we celebrate our graduating seniors this season, we are proud to highlight the musical journey of Serena Tacelli, a talented pianist and devoted student who has been part of the EKS Music School family for the past eight years.
A senior at North Quincy High School, Serena began her classical piano studies over a decade ago and has spent the majority of her musical journey under the guidance of EKS founder and director Ms. Ellyses Kuan. Over the years, Serena has not only grown tremendously as a pianist but has also deepened her emotional expression, creativity, and confidence—both in music and in life.
Her dedication to weekly practice sessions and tackling complex repertoire taught her the value of perseverance and patience. Performing regularly provided her with a sense of accomplishment and the joy of sharing music with others. Serena’s reflections speak to the profound impact that music—and her mentors—have had on her personal growth.
This fall, Serena will begin a new chapter at Simmons University, where she plans to major in Biology on the Physician Assistant (PA) track. Although she will be taking a break from formal piano lessons, the musical foundation she built at EKS will continue to resonate in her life.
Congratulations, Serena! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what your future holds.
