Dr. Ben Yee-Paulson is an educator, composer, and pianist working in the Boston area. As a pianist, he has performed in a variety of top venues such as Carnegie Hall and Jordan Hall, and performs with top-level musicians in the US and Europe. As an educator, he has taught piano, music theory, and composition for the last eight years to both adults and youth students, and held faculty positions at New England Conservatory and Indiana University. Dr. Ben Yee-Paulson’s music is performed across the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Taiwan. His music is premiered in venues like Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, and the world opening of Microsoft’s flagship store in New York City. Yee-Paulson’s music won the Ruth Crawford Seeger Prize, the Costello Competition, a Merit Award and “Emerging Composer” status from the Tribeca New Music Festival, multiple finalist positions from the ASCAP Morton Gould Competition, and honorable mention in the Future Blend Competition. He was a composer-in-residence at the Lake George Music Festival, Choral Arts Initiative, Zodiac Music Festival, and DePaul University. Yee-Paulson’s music is played by the American Modern Ensemble, Ensemble Del Niente, Choral Arts Initiative, NEC Contemporary Ensemble, NEC Saxophone Ensemble, IU Concert Orchestra, and the New York Youth Symphony. Yee-Paulson has a Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University.
