EKS Music School Master Class

A Memorable Day with Dr. Julie Hague

Yesterday (April 5, 2025)  was truly a special day at our studio as we welcomed Dr. Julie Hague, co-author of the beloved Piano Safari method!

The morning began with a wonderful parent workshop, where Dr. Hague shared valuable insights into practice strategies, learning processes, and how parents can best support their young pianists at home. Right after the workshop, we hosted our Elementary Piano Masterclass. For many of our young performers, it was their very first masterclass experience, and what an exciting way to begin — meeting the composer of the pieces they are currently learning!

It was a dream come true for our students to meet Dr. Hague in person, especially since some of them are performing her own compositions. There’s something truly magical about meeting a living composer and playing their music — it brings the pieces to life in a new and inspiring way. As a special souvenir, each young pianist received a sheet of music personally signed by Dr. Hague, a keepsake they will treasure for years to come.

In the afternoon, Dr. Hague led an insightful Piano Masterclass for our intermediate students. Her thoughtful comments and gentle guidance encouraged every performer to dig deeper into their musical expression and technique.

We are so grateful to Dr. Hague for sharing her time, wisdom, and passion with our students and families today. It’s a day we will all remember for a long time!
