Akshi Viswanathan
Piano and Voice Faculty
Akshi Viswanathan is a vocalist, pianist, educator, and composer dedicated to helping students foster their love for music. She earned her dual Bachelors of Music and Marketing from the University of Connecticut (’25), and she is currently studying for her Masters in Music Education with PreK-12 Initial Certification at Boston University.
Akshi has sung with multiple collegiate a cappella groups and with Park Congregational Church (CT). She studied voice for 3.5 years with Dr. Constance Rock and was an avid member of the UConn Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Jamie Spillane. During her last semester of undergrad, Akshi worked as the music director with Glastonbury Youth and Family Services for their spring show.
In addition to education, Akshi is a singer/songwriter and performer who releases music under the stage name “Tara Sunne.” She also works as a freelance a cappella arranger and social media/branding manager for small artists like herself. She continues to pursue new musical avenues including music production, vocal composition, and performing gigs with her band.
Akshi is beginning her first year with EKS, and she is so excited to get to know all the amazing and talented music students at the school!
