Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Freda Locker began her piano journey at just five years old, forming the foundation of her lifelong dedication to music. She pursued rigorous formal training at renowned institutions: studying at the Curtis Institute of Music, earning her Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University, and completing a Master of Music degree at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music.
Freda advanced her artistry as Principal and Solo Pianist with the Boston Ballet Company, performing across major venues in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York City. Her career also features international engagements, including concerts in Spain, Korea, London, and Finland—each reflecting her global reach and artistic versatility.
Today, based in the Greater Boston area, Freda Locker is a passionate educator. She invests in her students’ growth with both technical expertise and professional insight, nurturing the next generation of musicians with the same dedication that has defined her remarkable career.
