Once Upon a Tale

As we gearup for the new school year at EKS Music School, we’re thrilled to introduce our exciting theme: “Once Upon a Tale: Melodic Stories.” This year, our curriculum and performances will be deeply rooted in the inspiring connection between music and storytelling, offering students a unique and enriching learning experience.

 

Theme Overview

“Once Upon a Tale: Melodic Stories” is designed to immerse students in music repertoires inspired by classic tales and narratives. By exploring how composers use melody, harmony, and rhythm to bring stories to life, our students will gain a deeper understanding of both music and literature. This theme will not only enhance their musical skills but also broaden their appreciation for the stories that have shaped cultures around the world.

 

Curriculum Integration

Throughout the year, our lesson plans will incorporate a variety of story-inspired music pieces tailored to different levels of ability. This approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to engage with the theme in a meaningful way, whether they are just beginning their musical journey or are more advanced in their studies.

 

Featured Performance

The highlight of our theme will be a feature performance of “Mother Goose” by Maurice Ravel. This enchanting suite, which vividly captures the essence of beloved fairy tales, will serve as the centerpiece of our annual concert. Our students will work together in group and individual lessons to prepare for this performance, making it a truly collaborative and memorable event.
