EKS Music School offers online private one-on-one instrumental lessons * customized to your learning style and goals. Lesson lengths range from 25min, 40min to 55min. We offer different instrumental lessons including piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwinds, composition, theory and aural training etc. Registration is ongoing throughout the year.

What are the benefits of online lesson vs in-person lesson?
There are many benefits of online lesson, here are a few:

What is a student portal?
Students will receive their own student portal account with their own username and password once they have enrolled. They will be able to access their schedule, online resources, music library and lesson notes in the student portal.
What are recorded lessons and lesson notes?
All online lessons will be recorded and posted on your student portal. You can rewatch your lesson as many times as you want. Our instructors will write up lesson notes and assignments after each lesson. Students will have access to both recorded lessons and weekly lesson notes.
What type of equipment do I need for online lessons?
You will obviously need your instruments (for lessons and practice) , a viewing device (preferably a tablet or a laptop) and stable internet connection . Our instructors will also show you how to change your audio settings and add affordable equipment (such as your existing mobile device) to enhance your lesson experience and quality.
How can I help my young child in his/her online lessons?
Parents play an essential part in a successful music education. Parents should test out the online platform and equipment before their first lesson with their children. Instructor will send out an online invitation and set up information beforehand, to help students and parents become familiar with the equipments and set up for the lessons. Parents can also observe the lessons and feel free to ask the instructor any questions they may have!
Do I get performance opportunity if I take online lesson?
Yes, performance skill is a major part in our curriculum at EKS. We host both virtual recitals and in-person recital depends on your location and your personal preference.
What are studio performance classes?
At EKS Music School, we host monthly studio performance classes. Students are welcome to sign up (it is FREE) and you receive feedback and performance tips simply by sharing and performing your piece. Online students can attend both virtual and in-person studio performance class depending on your location and your personal preference.
Can I still participate in any RCM assessment program?
Absolutely. EKS is officially a participating school for RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) which also offers virtual assessment for all levels (Preparatory to diploma levels).
Can I switch to in-person lesson if I want to ?
Yes, you may. Switching options are available at the end of each semester.
